Specifying Data Sources

Article Number:040879

You can specify data sources for an AI Search chatbot under Data sources for generated answers. Multiple apps can be set as data sources.

For example, if you have an AI Search chatbot for answering questions related to sales activities, you can enable it to give more specific answers by specifying a customer management app, a sales case management app, a sales history app, or other related apps as data sources.
Also, by selecting which fields to use from each data source app, you can further narrow down what kind of information the chatbot will provide.

Steps

  1. Click the Settings icon (the gear-shaped icon) at the top of kintone, then click kintone AI management.

  2. On the kintone AI management screen, click Settings under AI Search in the kintone AI Lab section.

Adding data sources

You can add another data source by clicking the Add icon (the plus sign-shaped icon) to the right of an app.
It is possible to specify up to 10 data source apps.

Deleting data sources

You can delete a data source by clicking the Delete icon (the minus sign-shaped icon) to the right of an app.

Notes

Apps that cannot be specified as data sources

The following apps cannot be specified as data sources and will not be suggested if they are searched for in the Search apps field.

  • Apps for which you have not been granted the "View records" or "Add records" permission in the Permissions for app settings
  • Apps for which the "Manage/use/delete apps" permission has not been granted in the Permissions for app groups settings
  • Apps that belong to the Private app group and were created by another user
  • Apps that belong to a private space that you are not a member of
  • Apps that belong to guest spaces

Fields that can be used for generating answers

The fields that are used for generating answers differ depending on the step of the AI Search chatbot's response generation process.
For details, refer to the following page.
About response generation and data source usage

Strings that are automatically displayed as links

  • Website URLs that are included in generated answers are automatically displayed as links.
Links are also displayed for URLs entered in kintone fields, including fields that are not Link fields.
  • The values of Record number fields set with app codes automatically link to the relevant records.
For information on app codes, refer to the following page.
    Setting an app code

"References" in chatbot responses

Links to the apps specified as data sources are displayed under References in chatbot responses.
These links are displayed with the record title set for each app under Title field. For users who do not have the "View" permission for the field used as the record title, the record number will be displayed instead.
