Actions Users Can Perform on Spaces

Space administrators, space members, and other general users can perform the following actions on a space.
Actions that can be performed by guests are explained in Actions Users Can Perform on Guest Spaces.

Change the Appearance settings (including changing the space name)
Join the space - - Allowed if the action is not prohibited in the Appearance tab of Space Settings
Add to or remove from Favorites*1
Change members
Edit the body text of the space's Announcement section
Search in space
Create a space template Allowed only for kintone Administrators*2 and Users & System Administrators
Leave the space Allowed if the action is not prohibited in the Appearance tab of Space Settings
Delete the space
Add a new thread*3
Delete a thread*3 Allowed only if the user created the thread
Follow/unfollow a thread Allowed if the action is not prohibited in the Appearance tab of Space Settings
Edit thread body text Allowed only if the user created the thread
Post comments on a thread
Create a thread action
Use a thread action Allowed only for those specified as the "Available To" users of the thread action
Create an in-space app*4 Allowed if the action is not prohibited in the Appearance tab of Space Settings
Configure settings for an in-space app Depends on the app's Permissions for App setting
Delete an in-space app Depends on the app's Permissions for App setting
Change which space an in-space app belongs to*5
Use an in-space app (including searching) Depends on the app's Permissions for App setting
Add or delete a link in the Related Apps & Spaces section

*1: The space will be added to the Favorite Spaces list of the user who performed the action. Other users will not be notified of this action, nor will the list be made public.

*2: If the space includes in-space apps, the user who performs the action is required to have the app management permission for these apps.

*3: These actions can be performed only when the Enable multiple threads. Note: This setting cannot be reverted. check box is selected on the Appearance tab of Space Settings.

*4: Even if a user is a space administrator, the user cannot create the app in the cases listed below. The same goes for when the Only allow space administrators to create apps check box is not selected on the Appearance tab of Space Settings.

  • The user is not granted the "Create apps" permission in the Permission Management setting in kintone Administration.
  • The user is not granted the "Create apps" and "Manage/use/delete apps" permissions for the "Public" app group in the App Groups setting in kintone Administration.

*5: Even if a user is a space administrator, the user cannot change which space an in-space app belongs to in the following cases.

  • The user is not granted the app management permission for the app.
  • The user is not granted the "Create apps" permission in the Permission Management setting in kintone Administration.
  • The user is not granted the "Create apps" and "Manage/use/delete apps" permissions for the "Public" app group in the App Groups setting in kintone Administration.
