# Calculated

You can place a Calculated field to set a formula to display the calculated result.
In a formula, you can also use operators and functions to sum up other field values, or change the result depending on the conditions specified.
For details, refer to the pages listed in the Setting Formulas category.

## Setting Formulas

For details on how to set formulas, refer to the following page.

## Usage Examples

Described below are usage examples.

• Four arithmetic operation: In a project management app, multiply the "Unit Price" by the "Number of Users" to calculate the Subtotal.
Formula to calculate the subtotal: Unit_Price*Number_of_Users

• Use a function in calculation: In a quote app or a transportation expenses reimbursement app, add itemized amounts to calculate the total amount.
Formula to calculate the subtotal: Unit_Price*Quantity, Total Price: SUM(Subtotal)

• Calculate working hours: In a timesheet app, subtract the start time and the break time from the finish time to calculate working hours.
Formula to calculate working hours: Finish-Start-Break*60

For other examples, refer to the Setting Formulas page.

## Setting Options for Calculated Fields

• Field Name
• Specifies the header for the entry item.
• Hide field name
• Hides the field names on the screens to add, edit, enter details of, and print records.
• Formula
• To specify a formula, use field codes for the fields to calculate.
If you change the field code in the field setting, the same change is applied to the field code that is being used in the existing formula.
See "Setting Formulas"
• Hide formula
• Hides the formula in the Add records and Edit records screens.
• Show As
• Selects the display format of the calculated result.
• Number of Decimal Places
• Sets a specified number of digits after the decimal point to be displayed.
The decimal part that exceeds the specified number of digits will be rounded down.
