Rules for identifying string matches
- Japanese voiced sound ("dakuon") and semi-voiced sound ("handakuon") are not distinguished.
- Half-width and full-width characters (Japanese characters, alphanumeric characters, and symbols) are not distinguished.
- Japanese hiragana and katakana characters are not distinguished.
For example, a department whose name is registered in katakana with voiced or semi-voiced marks appears in the suggestion list also when you enter the name in hiragana without voiced or semi-voiced marks.
However, if a department name is registered in half-width katakana with voiced or semi-voiced marks, a string you entered is regarded as a match only when you enter the name in half-width katakana with voiced or semi-voiced marks. If you enter the name in full-width hiragana or katakana, the name will not appear in the suggestion list.
