When I use Excel to open the CSV file whose delimiter is tab, space, or semicolon, data is not separated into cells
If you export data to a CSV file using "Tab," "Space," or "Semicolon" as a delimiter and open the file in excel, all the data in a record may be combined into a single cell.
You can split data in a record into each cell by specifying an appropriate delimiter when importing a CSV file in Excel.
To import a CSV file in Excel, perform the following steps.
Note that the menu names and operations may vary depending on which version of Excel you are using.
-
Open a new Excel workbook.
-
Click Data tab, then click Get Data.
-
Click From File, then click From Text/CSV.
-
On the "Import Data" screen, select the CSV file to import.
-
On the preview screen, select the same delimiter as the one in your CSV file for "Delimiter" and click Load.
Make sure that data of a record is imported into each cell.
