Cybozu Desktop 2 Features

Cybozu Desktop is an application for sending notifications of Cybozu Office and Garoon update information to the client computer desktop.
The user interface is available in Japanese, English, and Chinese.
Cybozu Desktop 2 for Windows
Windows version of Cybozu Desktop has an auto update feature.
If a new version is available, you can select whether to update.
Cybozu Desktop for Mac
Cybozu Desktop for Mac uses the "Notification Center" function.
Installation and updates are performed using the Mac App Store.
An Apple ID and password are required in order to operate the Mac App Store.
Tip
  • Up to version 2.1 of Cybozu Desktop for Windows was developed by ClickOnce deployment.
    ClickOnce deployment is a technology provided by Microsoft. When a new version is released, you will receive a notification that asks you to update Cybozu Desktop.

    Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 or later is required to update Cybozu Desktop.

Cybozu Products and Services for Which Notifications can be Obtained

The Cybozu products and services that Cybozu Desktop supports and the applications for which Cybozu Desktop can obtain notifications are as follows:

Supported Products and Services

The products and services that support Cybozu Desktop are as follows:
  • Cybozu cloud services
    • Cybozu Office
    • Cybozu Garoon
  • On-premise versions of Cybozu products
    • Cybozu Office (Version 10.2 and later)
    • Cybozu Garoon (Version 4.0 and later)

The above products and services are supported even when configured for client certificate authentication, Basic authentication, or SAML authentication.
However, you cannot use Cybozu Desktop in the following cases:
  • In the SAML authentication settings, restrict users to using only SAML authentication when they log in

Tip
  • If you use Remote Service to access Cybozu products, you cannot use Cybozu Desktop for Mac.
  • The following connections are not available in Cybozu Desktop 2.1 and earlier.
    • Connection to Garoon on the environment where Integrated Windows Authentication is configured

Applications for Which Notifications can be Obtained

Cybozu Desktop can obtain notifications for the following applications of the supported products and services:

  • Bulletin Board
  • Phone Messages
  • Cabinet
  • Report (Cybozu Office)
  • MultiReport (Garoon)
  • Workflow
  • Custom Apps (Cybozu Office)
  • Projects (Cybozu Office)
  • Space (Garoon)
  • Group Mail (Group Mail for Garoon)
  • Notifications from connected systems

The details of notifications in Cybozu Desktop are the same as the "Updates" displayed in the top page of each service.

Information to Be Provided to Users

The following information is to be provided to users for Cybozu Desktop:
  • Login name and password of the user
    You can check the login name on the "Departments & Users" page of the "User Administration" in cybozu.com administration. The password is set by using the "Edit User" page.

  • Which authentication method is used
    If Basic authentication is used, the user name and password for Basic authentication are required.
    The account and password for SAML authentication do not need to be registered in Cybozu Desktop.
    If client certificate authentication is used, configure the dedicated access URL in Cybozu Desktop.
    If you are using the integrated Windows Authentication, the user name and password for logging into Windows are used. The user name and password do not need to be registered in Cybozu Desktop.

Audit Log Output Destination

For the cloud version, accesses to Cybozu Desktop are output to the audit log of cybozu.com administration as Cybozu Office and Garoon logs.
